BENEATH THE LIME TREES

Lime trees have something to offer in every season. In spring their fresh green colour ensures us that the dark days of winter are over; in summer they provide shade and their flowers infatuate us (and the bees) with their sweet fragrance; in the autumn they let their beautiful heart shaped leaves rain on us; and in winter the shapes of the old gnarly trees trigger our imagination.
