COLOURS OF ICELAND

Iceland is a landscape photographers dream. The dramatic scenery under even more dramatic skies can be overwhelming. In all the grandiosity the smaller details are easy to overlook. The stark contrast between the black lava and the leftovers of snow, the golden shimmer when a sunray hits the volcanic ashes, the bright yellow lichen growing up the dark slopes of otherwise bare mountain sides, the fluorescent green moss colonising rocks, the colourful soil dyed by different minerals - they all add to the breathtaking Icelandic landscape and are worth a closer look in their own right.
