PLANTS OF LANZAROTE

Lanzarote is very barren due to its volcanic origins, there are no springs or rivers and therefore no lush vegetation, apart from maybe a few artificially watered gardens. It very rarely rains and when it does the water runs off directly into the sea. Only plants that can cope with the hot and dry conditions will happily grow here, like cacti and the odd palm tree. Both are worth a closer look though...
